OBJECTIVES
The Reader’s Club aims to develop a consistent and meaningful reading habit among student-teachers. It encourages students to read regularly and make reading an integral part of their academic and personal lives. The club motivates students to explore books and other reading materials beyond their prescribed curriculum.
The club provides opportunities for students to explore diverse genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, biographies, educational literature, and contemporary writings. Exposure to different genres helps students broaden their knowledge, appreciate various literary forms, and develop an understanding of different perspectives.
Regular reading helps students improve their vocabulary, language proficiency, reading comprehension, and communication abilities. Through reading activities, presentations, discussions, and book reviews, the club provides opportunities for students to express their ideas clearly and confidently.
The Reader’s Club encourages students to critically examine and analyse the content they read. Group discussions, book reviews, debates, and reflective activities help students evaluate ideas, compare different viewpoints, form reasoned opinions, and develop independent thinking skills.

The Dastak – Readers Club organized a literary programme titled “ KALATHEETHANAYA MUKUNDAN ” on 28 September 2026 at 9:40 a.m. The programme was organized to introduce students to the literary contributions and creative works of M. Mukundan, a prominent Malayalam writer, and to develop their interest in reading and literature.The programme provided an opportunity for students to explore the themes, characters, language, and social dimensions reflected in M. Mukundan’s writings. The participants engaged in discussions on his literary works and shared their observations and interpretations. The session encouraged students to approach literature critically and appreciate the relationship between literary works and social and cultural experiences.The programme also promoted reading habits, literary appreciation, critical thinking, and meaningful interaction among the students. The active participation of the members of Dastak – Readers Club made the session informative and engaging. The programme successfully fulfilled its objectives and contributed to nurturing a deeper interest in Malayalam literature among the students.
DASTAK - READER'S CLUB INAUGURATION AND NAME REVEALING CEREMONY
The Readers’ Club of TIM Training College, Nadapuram organized its Inauguration and Name Revealing Ceremony on 22 September 2026 at 9:45 AM at the Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting reading habits, literary appreciation, critical thinking, and intellectual engagement among student teachers. The event was graced by T. V. Kunjabdulla, Poet and Educator, who inaugurated the Readers’ Club and officially revealed its name as “DASTAK.” The name DASTAK symbolizes an invitation to open the doors of knowledge, imagination, ideas, and creativity through reading. The programme highlighted the importance of reading in developing language proficiency, communication skills, creativity, and a broader understanding of society and culture. The club aims to provide students with opportunities to engage in book discussions, literary activities, reviews, quizzes, reading sessions, and other programmes that nurture a vibrant reading culture. The interaction with the chief guest provided students with valuable insights into literature, reading, and the role of books in personal and professional development. The programme also encouraged students to actively participate in the activities of the newly named Readers’ Club and develop reading as a lifelong habit. The event was successfully conducted with the active participation of students and faculty members. Overall, the DASTAK Readers’ Club Inauguration and Name Revealing Ceremony marked an important step towards creating a dynamic and intellectually enriching reading culture in the college.
READING WEEK CELEBRATION -2026
Reading Week Celebration was organized by the Reader’s Club and TIM Library, TIM Training College, Nadapuram, in association with IQAC, with the objective of promoting reading habits and developing a deeper appreciation for books and literature among students. The programme focused on encouraging students to recognize the importance of reading in enhancing knowledge, creativity, language skills, and critical thinking. As part of the celebration, a Reading Day Message was shared to highlight the significance of reading and its role in personal and academic development. A Reading Day Pledge was also conducted to motivate students to develop a regular reading habit and cultivate a lifelong interest in books. A Digital Poster Making Competition was organized to provide students with an opportunity to express their ideas creatively through digital media. An Online Quiz was conducted to make the celebration more interactive and to encourage students to expand their general knowledge and reading-related awareness. The celebration also included the initiative “Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader,” which was organized for the students of Al Huda English Medium UP School to inspire young learners to develop an interest in reading. The various activities provided students with opportunities to participate, express their creativity, and engage actively with reading and literary activities. The programme successfully highlighted the importance of books and reading in developing informed, creative, and responsible individuals. Overall, the Reading Week Celebration served as a meaningful initiative to foster a strong reading culture among students and promote the message “Read Today, Lead Tomorrow.”
